31st May – 7th June
Another week has gone by and as usual another story to be told. This week I have worked on a few computers with various issues inc. corrupted .net framework and malware infections!
On both these and on the others I worked on I noticed that during the course of my work and the checks I make prior to reuniting the computers with their owners that a number of programs were outdated. The programs affected range from browsers to Java.
The use of outdated versions of software programs and utilities is a main contributory factor that is often overlooked when trying to keep your machines secure. In fact its a very common way that your computer may be compromised.
It is very important to keep your operating system up to date, and to check on a regular basis that you are also running the latest updates of all your software, Inc Adobe Reader, Flash and Shock-wave, and other software inc Java, Antivirus, Google chrome, Firefox, Safari or IE. etc.
Just by spending a little time weekly you can prevent a lot of inconvenience later on.
If you require any help or advice, i am only a call or email away.
